I remember being in school and having a giant callous on my middle finger, the one that held the pencil. Proof that I spent alot of time holding a pencil or pen--alot of time writing.
Today.. the callous is on my index finger, from scissors!!! I noticed it driving home from picking up the kids! It's quite funny looking. A big blister. A bump. A badge of honor, from doing something I love! :)
Suse & Blackbird have requested "musical instruments".. we are a one musical instrument family.
This is it. A small piano. The man we bought it from called in an "apartment spinnet". If you look closely you can see the dinged keys. If you could hear it you would hear missing sounds and a piano out of tune. My husband can play quite well when he devotes time to it. Me? Oh, I just remember all the tunes from piano lessons long ago. Our #2 son Peter has actually started lessons this year and seems to do well and enjoy.
I just don't think I can do another month of exposing and picking myself apart. There are "wobbly bits" and wrinkles but we all have them, and I just don't want to focus on them.
I would rather focus on the fact that I am whole, I am strong and I am heathly, praise be to God.
My family has health. We have blessings. I am naturally drawn to notice my own flaws. I don't need any help in this area. So.. I think I'm going to have to sit this month out.. or just have a different "take" on it. I haven't figured out what that is yet though!
